Nestled into one of the leafiest and most celebrity-packed pockets of the Hollywood Hills is this lovely house, which is now available with a nearly $6.4 million list price. That’s a lot of money, even for this neighborhood, but this is also a lot of home — the property offers a fully renovated main structure, plus a separate guesthouse, kidney-shaped pool and Japanese-inspired gardens.

Originally built in 1948, the midcentury ranch-style compound last sold almost exactly five years ago for $3.3 million. The current owner is Jaime Johnson, an heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune and one of three daughters born to billionaire New York Jets owner Woody Johnson. Jaime, 40, is also a photographer who has been called a “groovy chick extraordinaire” by Guest of a Guest.

From that sense of style was born this chic Los Angeles residence, fully renovated by Johnson during her ownership. Step into the main house and you’ll be treated to earth-toned hardwood floors and an open living room with a fireplace, a flouted plaster fireplace surround and the original post and beam wood ceiling. The kitchen flaunts top-of-the-line appliances, quartz countertops and cabinets sheathed in a trendy shade of forest green paint.

Like the living room, the dining room features whimsically modern Apparatus light fixtures. The primary bedroom, one of four bedrooms in the main house, is equipped with an ensuite bathroom sporting gold Calacatta marble finishes and a dressing room paneled in Douglas fir. Nearly every room in the home features sliding walls of glass that bathe the interiors in natural light and open to various patios, and there’s also a lower level with a screening room.

Out back, the swimming pool is surrounded by plenty of space for sunbathing and lounging; also on tap nearby are fruit trees and a vegetable garden. The guesthouse is semi-hidden behind gardens courtesy of landscape design firm Terremoto, and includes a combo living/dining space with a kitchenette, in addition to the bedroom and bathroom.

Though homes in these cramped hills often sit cheek-to-jowl, the Johnson residence is surrounded by enormous hedges and a big driveway gate, preserving both privacy and security, and the property is outfitted with an alarm system and cameras. Alex Barad of Nourmand & Associates and Lauren Reichenberg of Compass hold the listing.
