Welcome to Sunset Strip

Maybe the most exciting area in LA, the mile-and-a-half Sunset Strip is noted for its restaurants, boutiques, and nightlife. As the best-known part of Sunset Boulevard, its prevalence in the entertainment industry is unrivaled; the Strip is synonymous with celebrity and excitement because of its rich history, a unique blend of amenities, and colorful wall-to-wall advertising. In the 1960s and 70s, the Strip became a haven for music groups—bands like Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Byrds, Love, The Seeds, and Frank Zappa played at clubs like the Whisky a Go Go, The Roxy, Pandora's Box, and the London Fog. It extends from the east edge of Beverly Hills to Hayvenhurst Drive and is still one of the best areas to go out and explore.

The residential area north of Sunset Strip climbs up in the hills to the Bird Streets, which have become famous because of the music, film, and sports stars that flock to the area. These narrow streets are some of the coveted in LA.
